Many thanks to all the feedbacks to our product. In this area we are publishing answers and questions to the T-Balancer.

Support is available in English and German. For information in other languages, please contact your local dealer.

> Fans: Can I connect more than 4 fans? Can I run my system with more than 1 T-Balancer?

Yes, you can connect more than 1 fan to one channel (in parallel). But you should in sum not exceed 15 Watt per channel. All fans on one channel are powered in the same way. Please deactivate the tacho signal in this case in the configuration assistant.

You can also install more than one T-Balancer in your system. But for monitoring and configuration activities you have to choose one TBAN after another (not in parallel).

> Which OS are supported?

Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows XP 64, Win98 (not all menues), Linux is in work

> Sensors: The Speedfan sensors always show 0°C?

Please enable Logging  in the Speedfan software!

> Fans: Will the speed of the fans be monitored and is the speed signal available on the motherboard?

The T-Balancer recognises the speed of the fans and delivers the signal to the motherboard. You can use furtheron mainboard tools like MBM for monitoring.

> Fans: How slow can my fan work?

This shows a 12cm fan with minimal speed. It is moving so slowly (and silently), that you can even recognise the details. For a better resolution, please click on the video.
The average start-up speed is about 20%. Some models even start with 8%. If the fan has a tacho signal then the T-Balancer can detect when the fan is starting, and can control it from this moment on, without accelerating to 100%.
The  average minimum speed is about 10%, some models turn also with 2%. Detailed information about fan speed for different fan models is available in the fan list.

> Fans: Can I also use 4pin fans?

Yes, we have tested them. Just leave the 4th pin (blue) empty.

> Response curve: Can I configure a jump?

Yes you can define a temperature after which the fan's speed increases automatically. For example, if you define the jump point at 40°, you can have the speed of the fan increase gradually to a maximum of 20% as temperatures go up until 40°. If this 40° temperature is passed, the fan rate will increase to, say, 50% and raise gradually according to the increase in temperature.

> Which flowmeter can I use with the T-Balancer?

You can use different models, you can adjust the impulse rate and the measuring range. The following models have been successfully tested:

- T-FLow
- Innovatek Rev. 2
- Laing DDC Pro Pump

> What is causing an alarm code 20 on my t-balancer SL4 as it is permanently running all my fans at 100% preventing any automatic or manual adjustments?

You have set the lower and upper limits for the flowmeter identically, please change to

- lower limit: 0l/min

- upper limit: 10l/min

> "timeout while reading"
You have installed the new software version 2.x, but you have still the old firmware 1.x. Please update with
guide for the firmware update

> run time errors
Please install the newest software. Please reregister with CSrepair and/ or reinstall the MDAC.

> The T-Balancer software needs longer for start-up

Mostly other software or driver hinder the TBAN software to execute. Known conflicts are:

- MCAfee Firewall adjustments

- RAMDisk driver from QSoft

- MDAC configuration (please reinstall MDAC)

> Installation: USB communication problems, software is freezing?

Please check whether your power supply connection is fixed properly (it has to "click"). Please use an external USB cable for test reasons. Please uninstall former USB driver with /driver/ftdiunin.exe and install the actual USB driver.

> Installation: Known conflicts with other USB drivers!

With some other usb devices driver conflicts may occur. If that is the case, please disinstall the other usb driver, configure the T-Balancer and reinstall the other usb driver once again. Conflict with drivers is known to have occured with

- PC Suit for Sony Ericsson P900

- Eumex 704 PC LAN

- MRouter of Nokia PC Suite

- Prolific USB->Serial converter

> Installation: Which operating systems are supported?

The T-Balancer software supports Windows XP, XP64, Windows 2000 and Windows 2003. Windows 98 with some restriction. Linux is in work.

> How can I switch fastly between VCP and API driver?

You can switch easily without restarting and without plug/replug the USB cable with: USB-Guide

Or very good illustrated here: API->VCP and VCP->API

> How can I clean my system from conflicting USB drivers?

With the help of this tool: FTClean.

> Can I use the API driver also for software version 1.2?

No, the API driver only works up from firmware version 2.x
